Step-by-Step

1. Prepare the Surface

• Remove old flooring
• Clean and dry subfloor
• Install cement backer board
• Seal seams with mesh tape

2. Layout Your Tile

• Find center of room
• Dry-fit tiles first
• Plan cuts for edges
• Check for level

3. Apply Thinset

• Mix thinset to toothpaste consistency
• Apply with notched trowel
• Work in 3x3 sections
• Comb in one direction

4. Set the Tile

• Press tiles firmly
• Use spacers (1/8" for wall, 1/4" for floor)
• Check level frequently
• Clean thinset from joints

5. Grout

• Let thinset cure 24 hours
• Apply grout with float
• Clean excess with sponge
• Seal after 72 hours
